Hi 8th graders,

Here is a collection of North Carolina Resources I’ve put together to help with your social studies research! Don’t forget, we also have a collection of NC books in the Reference section, and you can always ask your friendly school librarian for help. : )

Hi faculty members,

Although the district no longer subscribes to Discovery United Streaming, we do have access to some great (free!) video streaming resources. Below are ones I recommend:

Math

  • MathTV (includes videos explaining math concepts in Spanish!)

Science

Social Studies

Current Events

If you’re searching for video clips on a particular topic, please feel free to contact me for help!

August 23, 2011 at 3:54 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Welcome back, Lions! I’m looking forward to seeing you all in the media center this year. Here are some exciting things to look out for this year in our library media and technology program:

  • New books! We have great new titles from authors like Rick Riordan, Sharon Draper, Walter Dean Myers, RL Stine, and lots more.
  • Expanded graphic novel collection – be sure to let me know which comic and manga series you’d like to see in the media center.
  • Technology projects in your classes, like multimedia videos, podcasts, blogs, and more.
  • Battle of the Books team!

Stay tuned for more information during library orientation in a couple weeks! You will be visiting the media center in your language arts classes. I look forward to meeting our new students and welcoming our “old” students back! : )
