Policies

Welcome to the media center! Reviewing the following guidelines will make using the media center a pleasant experience for you and Ms. Durbin.

Behavior in the Media Center

Using the media center is a privilege. Patrons are expected to use quiet voices, ask for what they need respectfully, avoid running and horseplay, and take care of the resources. Patrons who don’t meet these expectations will be asked to leave. Remember, this is your media center; it can be as fun and useful as you make it.

Borrowing Items

Students may borrow 2 items at a time, for a period of 2 weeks. Items can be renewed once. Return books to Ms. Durbin or place them in the blue cart by the door.

Overdue notices will be handed out in homeroom; if items are more than 90 days overdue, notices will be mailed to parent/guardian. Items that are lost or damaged must be replaced.

Students who have outstanding library obligations (lost or overdue books) may not participate in athletics and certain school events like dances.

Visiting the Media Center

You must have a signed pass from a teacher to come to the media center during school, including during lunch. You may also visit before and after school.
